JEORGE “E.R.” EJERCITO GETS HIS STAR ON THE PHILIPPINE “WALK OF FAME”
Laguna Governor and multi-awarded action star Jeorge “E.R.” Ejercito Estregan gets his name on the star of the Philippine counterpart of Hollywood “The Walk of Fame” last December 1, 2012 at the Eastwood, Libis, Quezon City. The “Walk of Fame” is a project created by Master Showman German Moreno in 2005 to honor the significant contributions of the deceased and living actors and actresses in Philippine show business. Other Television personalities who had their names embellished on the star are (Posthumous) Director Marilou Diaz-Abaya, Rosa Mia, Leroy Salvador, Angelo Castro, Jr., (Living) Director Carlo J. Caparas, Ricky Reyes, Al Quinn, Lucy Torres-Gomez, Anthony Castelo, Lani Misalucha, Ricky Lo, Arnold Clavio, Bea Alonzo, Amy Austria, Rio Locsin, Nova Villa, Ronaldo Valdez, Jean Garcia, Ara Mina, Jessa Zaragoza, Gretchen Barretto, Pops Fernandez, Dennis Trillo and Quezon City Councilor’s Roderick Paulate and Alfred Vargas. Joining Governor ER Ejercito during the ceremony is his Asiong Salonga movie (1988) reel and real life leading lady, Pagsanjan Mayor Girlie “Maita” Javier Ejercito together with their four children Eric, Jet, Jerico and Jhulia.
GOVERNOR ESTREGAN & AGA M. WINS BEST ACTOR AT THE 28TH STAR AWARDS
Jeorge “ER.” Ejercito Estregan, movie action star and Governor of the Province of Laguna won the Best Actor award for the movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” during the 28th Star Awards for Movies last March 14, 2012 held at the Meralco Theater, Pasig City. The all-star cast movie, set in the 1950′s and shown entirely in black and white, was hailed as the “Movie of the Year” by the PMPC (Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc.). The movie swept nine major awards including “Best Picture”, “Best Director”- Tikoy Aguiluz, “Best Supporting Actor” – Baron Geisler , “Best Production Design”- Fritz Silorio and Mona Soriano, “Best Cinematographer”- Carlo Mendoza, “Best Editor” – Jason Cahapay and Ryan Orduna, “Best Musical Score” – Jessie Lazaten and “Best Original Theme Song” for the song “Hari ng Tondo” sung by Filipino rap artist Gloc Nine and Denise Barbacena. GovernorJeorge Estregan also received the Radiant Skin of the Night Award given by JIAOMING Glutathione to the celebrity who appears to have the most radiant and beautiful skin. “MANILA KINGPIN: THE ASIONG SALONGA STORY” REIGNED AT HE 37TH MMFF
The movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” starred by Laguna Governor Jeorge “ER.” Estregan took home a total of 11 major awards during the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival held on December 28, 2011 at the Resorts World Manila Performing Arts Theater, Pasay City. Aside from winning the Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award, the movie also won the following awards: Best Picture; Best Director Tikoy Aguiluz; Best Supporting Actor – John Regala; Best Screenplay – Roi Iglesias and Rey Ventura; Best Production Design Fritz Silorio and Mona Soriano; Best Cinematography – Carlo Mendoza; Best Editor Jason Cahapay and Ryan Orduna; Best Musical Score Jessie Lazaten; Best Sound Recording-Mike Idioms; and Best Original Theme Song for the song -”La Paloma” sung by Ely Buendia. Governor Jeorge Estregan also received the Male Celebrity Sexiest Appeal of the Night Award, which is given by SEXA-PEEL Exfoliant to the celebrity who appears to have the most sexiest appeal and flawless skin. Laguna Governor Jeorge “ER.” Ejercito Estregan wins his third “Best Actor” award for his brilliant performance in the black and white action movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” during the 30th Film Academy of the Philippines LUNA Awards night last August 26, 2012 held at the Quezon City Sports Complex. Gov. E.R. also bagged the “Best Actor” trophies at the 28th STAR Awards for Movies and 14th Gawad PASADO Awards. It was a sweep multiple victory for Governor Estregan and the rest of the production of “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” after winning six major awards including the “Best Picture”; “Best Supporting Actor” (John Regala); “Best Production Design” (Fritz Silorio and Mona Silorio); “Best Editing” (Jason Cahapay and Ryan Orduna); and “Best Sound” (Albert Michael Idioma). Together with Governor E.R. is Maja Salvador, who won her second “Best Actress” award (after Gawad Urian) also for the movie “Thelma”. The family drama indie film “Thelma” received four honors including “Best Director” (Paul Soriano); “Best Screenplay” (Froilan Medina and Paul Soriano); and “Best Cinematography” (Odyssey C. Flores).

Laguna Governor and Laguna Golden Lions basketball team owner Jeorge “E.R.” Ejercito Estregan celebrates with team coach Mr. Philip “The Scholar” Cezar and team manager Gerald Ejercito after they won the championship game against the Misamis Oriental Meteors, Ilocos Sur CS Tigers and MP General Santos during the Laguna Leg of the Liga Pilipinas 2011 regional basketball league held last May 25 to 28 at the Laguna Sports Complex at Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Also, Glenn Bolocon of the Laguna Golden Lions was awarded as the Most Valuable Player of the Laguna leg.
GOVERNOR ESTREGAN RECEIVES GAWAD TANGLAW AWARD
Laguna Governor Jeorge “ER.” Ejercito Estregan was honored with the “Gawad TANGLAW sa Sining ng Pelikula” during the 10th Gawad Testimonyal, Parangal at Papuri last March 15, 2012 at the DALTA Auditorium, University of Perpetual Help System, Las Pinas City. Gawad TANGLAW (Gawad Tagapuring mga Akademisyan ng Aninong Gumagalaw), established in 2003, is an academe-based award giving body that recognizes men and women with outstanding performance in the development of Philippine cinema. Gawad TANGLAW also recognizes films that promote education, good values, Filipino culture and traditions. “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story”, the most awarded and influential film of 2011, was likewise cited for “Best Cinematography” (Carlo Mendoza); and “Best Editing” (Jason Ca ha pay and Ryan Orduna).

Laguna Governor Jeorge “ER” Ejercito Estregan won his 4th “Best Actor” award for his brilliant and intense performance as “Asiong” in the multi-awarded movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” during the 60th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards, held at the Manila Hotel, Tuesday, September 25, 2012. It was a momentous event for the whole production team of the movie Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” as they dominated the prestigious FAMAS Awards sweeping a total of nine (9) major awards including Best Picture; Best Director (Tikoy Aguiluz); Best Supporting Actor (Baron Geisler); Best Screenplay (Roy Iglesias and Rey Ventura); Best Cinematography (Carlo Mendoza); Best Editing (Jason Cahapay and Ryan Orduna); Best Musical Scoring (Jessie Lazaten); Best Theme Song (Hari Ng Tondo by Gloc 9 and Denise Barbacena). During the same event, Governor ER was likewise given the FAMAS Outstanding Public Service Award in recognition of his outstanding and effective leadership as Chief Executive of the Province of Laguna. Together with Governor ER is FAMAS “Best Actress” winner Anne Curtis for the movie “No Other Woman”.

Laguna Governor, Jeorge “ER” Ejercito Estregan was recently awarded the “Darling of the Press” trophy in the 27th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies 2011 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila, Pasay City held last Tuesday, June 22, 2011. This prestigious award is given to showbiz celebrities who have established excellent rapport with the Movie Press Industry. Governor E.R bested four other nominees including Veteran Action Star Senator Bong Revilla Jr., Ms. Annabelle Rama, broadcast journalist Daniel Razon and the Kanto Boys very own Luis Manzano. Governor E.R also paid tribute to his Father, the late George Estregan Sr. and his two uncles, Former President Joseph E. Estrada and Star builder, Jessie Ejercito as his greatest inspirations in life and offered the award in their honor. Governor E.R was accompanied by his beautiful wife, the Mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna, Mrs. Girlie “Malta” Ejercito dressed in a stunningly gorgeous Aqua Blue Filipinana Gown made from the Embroidery Capital of the Philippines, Lumban, Laguna. The movie “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story” was also awarded as the Best Picture and the other awards received were Best Production Design by Fritz Silorio and Mona Soriano and Best Sound by Albert Michael ldioma.
